"Buffalo Soldier"

It was Memorial Day 2006,Washington, DC. A day blessed with clear bright sunshine.I witnessed a tribute to the "Buffalo Soldiers". In the background of this image is the "African American Civil War Memorial". I have mixed emotions regarding the "hero" tag placed upon the "Buffalo Soldier" for their task under the decree, "To win the West", relegated an entire population ( Native Americans) to reservations... and the rest is history
